Secondary metal production refers to scrap which has been remelted to produce either a “secondary alloy” according to an agreed chemical and physical specification, or a “remelt” which would be produced to less strict analytical and physical specifications. The resulting secondary alloy or remelt may be cast out into a number of different shapes such as ingot, blocks, sow, billet and other transportable shapes.
